The Word of God Speaks

Photobucket
I love the words to the song Word of God Speaks and it is so true.
I had a situation this past week that I was praying about - and I was reminded in a big way that God wants to be in all of our situations - every single one of them, no matter how big or small. This particular one would most likely be considered small to most people - but it was big to me. I have shared it with a couple of people, but without going into all the details - let me just say that when I prayed and I asked God for direction - He led me immediately to a scripture I had never read before in my life - and it was a direct answer to my question to Him. It couldn't have been any more clearer and once I acted on the situation He gave me confirmation after confirmation.

One of my friends that I shared this with asked me why doesn't God always do that? The only thing I knew to say was - how do you know He doesn't? Are we always really listening? or is it if we don't get the message we want to hear - we just ignore it and keep on looking and waiting - and when we don't hear what we want - we think God isn't answering? Or is He telling us to wait - show our faith - and He will give us the answer in His time - and when He does answer - we have turned a deaf ear because we were tired of waiting?
An example she gave me - she was praying whether or not to apply for a specific job. She was in such turmoil - should she or shouldn't she? She kept asking God for the answer but didn't feel she was getting anywhere. Finally she just gave up and decided to keep the job she has now, which she is happy she did. So I asked her - once you made your mind up that you would stay where you are - how did you feel? She said she felt relieved - like a weight had been lifted.  So I told her - God gave you the answer - you had peace then - so you knew you made the right decision. Every time she would think about applying for the other job she would make herself sick,  unsure of what to do - God is not the author of confusion - she had her answer all along - she just didn't realize it.
God will answer us one way or another - He will speak to us one way or another - it may not always be clear cut - but we do have to be mindful - paying attention to His Word - because the Word of God truly does speak.

Word of God Speaks
by MercyMe
I'm finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it's okay
The last thing I need is to be heard
But to hear what You would say

[CHORUS]
Word of God speak
Would You pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
To be still and know
That You're in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In Your holiness
Word of God speak

I'm finding myself in the midst of You
Beyond the music, beyond the noise
All that I need is to be with You
And in the quiet hear Your voice

[REPEAT CHORUS 2x]

I'm finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it's okay
