If you are on Facebook at all, you know the game is going around that when you comment on someone's "facts about me you didn't know" post - then they assign you a number and you in turn post your "facts" and wait for someone to comment and then assign them a number as well - my number was 12 - and below are my "never before seen amazing facts that you probably did not know but always wished you did know" facts. Enjoy! (ha!)
Ok...12 things you may not know about me.
1. I do not like to chit chat on the phone.
2. I was due on the 4th of July but made my poor mom wait 4 days in the hospital first.
3. I prefer all the old TV shows like Andy Griffith, I Love Lucy, to pretty much anything on TV today.
4. I have had my sons baby ring on my finger for 29 years and never take it off. (He's 33)
5. I am on the infomercial for the Instyler.
6. My whole family square danced every Friday and Saturday night during my early teens and I loved it. We were the Rebel Reelers -complete with petticoats and matching dresses.
7. I am working on our ancestry line and found that my dad's maternal side did not come to the U.S. until 1900, they came from the U.K. To Pennsylvania.
8. I did not go to kindergarten.
9. I could be a professional e-bayer. Friends call me "Ebay Queen"
10. I have had 6 Red vehicles (so far) in my life.
11. I prefer dresses to jeans any time.
12. I love anything monogram.

I bought my Nook Color back when they first arrived on the scene - with hard earned yard sale money, I might add! At the time they were $250.00 and I bought the 3 year insurance and a red leather cover bringing it to a grand total of $350.00 with tax. Of course now you can get them for $199 and even $99 when you can find a good deal like 2 of my friends did. That is the way with technology - you get the latest coolest gadget and months later they are dirt cheap and making room for the next latest coolest gadget...oh well.
I do love my Nook Color - I am now on my 3rd cover for it - I wasn't too happy with the $25 red leather case - it scarred really easily - very disappointing. I bought a soft leather pink cover from e-bay and it wore out quickly...the magnet for the closure kept slipping making it hard to keep closed. I now have a pretty pretty pretty black, white and red leather case I found on e-bay ($17.99) and so far I love it!
I play Words with Friends on my NC - so much more fun than on my phone or PC - much more relaxing to kick back in my recliner and check out Facebook, Pinterest or whatever - since I have wi-fi.
I have my bible downloaded - I have read The Help, The Shack, Heaven Is For Real and countless freebie books from Barnes & Noble. I like the fact that I can download a book, magazine or game in a matter of seconds. I have Angry Birds, Aces Jewel, Slots and a few other games.
It is so easy to pack in my purse to take in the car - instead of draggin' my laptop - if I know I am going somewhere that has free wi-fi. I have spent many mornings at Starbucks - enjoying a skinny latte and surfin' the web. We went to a family reunion in Jellystone National Park over the summer and my NC is how I kept up with my e-mail using their free wi-fi. I was surprised how fast it was there.
So nice to be able to sit outside by the pool in the summer and enjoy a good book - one of my favorite things to do when I am on summer vacation.
I have a stylus to use with mine but I rarely use it. I keep a nice soft cleaning cloth in the inside pocket of my cover. (one for cleaning glasses)
If I could offer one piece of advice if you are thinking of getting an e-book, whether it be Nook or Kindle - get COLOR - don't settle for less. You will enjoy it so much more, no doubt. It is worth the extra money to have the vivid colorful pages come to life as you read or play.

One of the worst parts of getting "older" is trying to read and not being able to see squat! I wear monovision contacts and still can't read! I had a pair of progressive lens glasses that were supposed to be my back up and it got where I couldn't even read with those! I recently went to the eye doctor for an exam and I bought new Coach frames that I wanted to have my prescription put in. After my exam it was determined that I just wasn't going to get much better reading than what I was getting already - and my eye doctor suggested I just have my glasses for distance since I am near sighted and then just pull them off when I am reading as I don't wear them that much - only to give my eyes a break from the contacts every other week or so. I hate the monovision contacts but if I go back to wearing contacts just for distance I will have to have a pair of reading glasses on me all the time since upclose will be blurry all the time for reading. It is bad enough already with one contact for reading and one for distance. I really don't want to be one of those ladies with a pair of reading glasses sitting on top of my head or hanging off of a chain around my neck! Today that is just what I did - my husband even commented - I had a pair of leopard print reading glasses sitting on top of my head most of the day.
That is the up-side ... they do make some pretty trendy reading glasses now - they even come with cute little cases. I have a zebra print pair at work - a red pair - a brown pair - I have little skinny glasses all over the house.
They are a pain in the patootie - but I do like to read - so guess they shall become one of my accessories from here on out. I found some really cute Vera Bradley specks on ebay - just bought them - so at least I will be stylin'! I'm still not wearing them on a chain around my neck, tho!!!
