3 of My L♥ves

These are 3 of my sweet sweet L♥ves. My 3 Girlie GrandAngels! I love these girls to pieces.

Alayna - will be 13 in August - a teenager! yikes! She is a basketball player - a tall beauty with dark eyes and dark hair like her mom.  She can be a little moody sometimes - pretty typical for her age - loves to read and makes really good grades. I can't believe she is going to be a 7th grader in junior high this coming school year!!

Brooklyn - my "mini me" - we are so much alike - it is scary. She will be here visiting (along with Lily) for 2 weeks and she can not wait to do some Youtube videos - "what's in my purse", "outfit of the day" - she is her Grammie's Girl. She loves fashion, is girly-girl, but also plays basketball. She is a blue eyed  10 year old that is smart, funny and a little of a drama queen. (she hates when people call her a drama queen!)

LilyRose - her name is actually Lillian Rose - I call her Lilypie - she is the baby girl of the family. She is 5 years old and this will be her first summer to get to spend 2 weeks here in Texas with Grammie and Pepaw. We are excited! She is a little mess. She looks just like her daddy, my son. It will be interesting to see how her personality develops and who she will take after most.

We will go get them the last day of this month -  I will be blogging a lot of our activivities in the next few weeks. I always have a lot of crafts, take lots of photos, get as much fun time in as we can.

Stay tuned!

Luau Fort - Tiki Style

Every summer we have the 2 oldest grandangels here for 2 weeks (along with my mom) and we try to make it as memorable as possible (for all of us). This year - it is going to be a little different. Our youngest girl grandangel will be coming with the middle one - the oldest has too many things going on this summer with camps, etc.

Bradley, aka Pepaw - has decided they need a fort - so of course I (also known as Grammie) have been declared interior (out-terior?) decorator.
Pepaw put up bamboo around the palm trees and I went to the Dollar Tree and bought all kinds of cute decorations. We put everything up just to see how it would look and I took a pic to share.
We have cute flamingo and parrot plates and napkins, Tiki Mask mugs, Inflatable parrots, leis and Tiki Mask decorations. This will be a fun place to eat their snacks when we are out in the pool.

I have put everything away for now - they won't be here until June 30th.

Pepaw with the White Hair

Last night I was Skyping with Lillian Rose aka Lilypie - the 5 year old grandangel - we talked about what she did that day, what the dog and the hamster were doing and she showed me her new dress that she got when shopping. Out of the blue she says "I want to talk to my Pepaw - the one with the white hair." It was so stinkin' cute! Pepaw was outside cleaning the pool but I told her I would get him to come in an talk to her. When I told him what she said, he was more than willing to come talk to his youngest granddaughter. We are still laughing over her description. :-)

Here is a pic of Pepaw with the white hair. He does have salt n' pepper hair, maybe a little more salt than pepper!

And a pic of Lilypie with me

Patty Cake Patty Cake - Cake Mix & Diet Pepsi

I've seen recipes where you can add your cola of choice to a box of brownie mix. I have also heard that Weight Watchers says you can make a cake using diet cola and your favorite cake mix. Today I decided to put it to the test. The only cake mix I had in my pantry was German Chocolate. I always have either Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi in the fridge. Simple enough - no eggs, no oil - just 12 ounces of Diet Pepsi - add to the mix - stir stir stir. ( I am not motivated enough to drag out my mixer, put it all together and then have to clean it up - put away again:-()

I made mine using 2 layer cake pans. Once out of the oven - I decided at the last minute to put a layer of Nutella on one of the cake layers while it was still hot. I LOVE Nutella. I let them cool just a bit before putting the layers together. I sprinkled powdered sugar all over the top layer and then cut into it while still warm.
It was amazing! It was so gooey inside with the Nutella melting into the bottom layer - I think the next time I make it I will add some caramel sauce to it. That will really set it off. I don't think this would meet Weight Watcher approval, but then I don't do WW - so no problem for me!
So - now I know - any flavor cake mix - diet coke/pepsi - Nutella, caramel or chocolate sauce - or any other favorite topping - and a yummy quickie cake is born.
