It's Always Time To (Christmas) Shop!

Friends always comment on how organized I am. Around  September or October I will hear "I bet you already have your Christmas shopping done, right?" I will answer with "Yes, and wrapped, too!" They know me. What they don't know is that I start my Christmas shopping for the next year as soon as Christmas is over. I plan my Christmas theme so I can get the the decorations on sale. I buy size up clothing for all the grandangels. I plan my wrapping paper colors and buy them on clearance. 

So - here we are January 19th and what have I bought so far?
A  white Christmas tree so I can put my black one upstairs next year.
All denim and burlap and red ornaments for the white tree.
A big wreath that I can decorate myself.
My wrapping paper theme next year will be puppy dogs - so I have 6 cute rolls of Christmas wrap and bags with dogs on them. Too cute.
Denim and Burlap decorations for the mantel/hearth.
Christmas paper plates, cups, napkins. 

I will have 8 GrandAngels that will range in ages of 1 year to 17 years next Christmas.
I cleaned up on long sleeve shirts at Old Navy last week so 3 of them already have several gifts.
I have hit great clearance sales at Marshalls, Kohl's, Hobby Lobby, Burlington Coat Factory and Palais Royal, to name a few.
I have even found a couple of items for the hubs already. This gives me plenty of time to get some of their "wish" gifts, too.

I would stress like crazy if I waited until December to shop. I even have a couple of friends who wait until the last week! 
I stay away from Black Friday - I am usually completely done by then. 

I am never really out of the Christmas shopping mode - which is kind of fun, I think.

What is really fun is when I get ready to wrap - and I pull everything out of the spare closet or attic and most of the time it is a surprise for ME because I have forgotten what I bought early on. I love it.

What I Wore - Wednesday

Yea, I know my new Vera Bradley bag doesn't match my outfit - but oh well!

OOTD Tuesday

I just love this blouse. I am so glad that LONG is still in - have I mentioned that before (lol) it covers a multitude of sins! (Apt 9 Kohls)

I am also wearing my new Yellow Box Sandals - they aren't the ones I wanted - these are very similar to another pair I have. I really wanted Bronze but since they didn't have my size and I am so impatient - I went ahead and bought them. (Norma's Country Dreams - unfortunatley no website but is on Facebook)

OOTD Tuesday

I am thrilled with my Jennifer Lopez capris. They are super comfortable and I am not big on jeans at all. I wish I was - but they just don't feel good to me. I am very very picky about denim unless it is a skirt. Anyway - I bought these JLo denim capri's at Kohls, as well as this beautiful Apt 9 top. I am so happy the flowing look is in again this year. I am way past the belly shirts and skin tight tops.
I am also wearing my fushia Coach sandals - which I bought last summer at the Coach Outlet store in San Marcos, TX. They are so cute and I love the color~!

OOTD - Easter Sunday

I am so glad the weather was nice today for this Easter Sunday - I have several new dresses for summer and wasn't really sure what I was going to wear until I got up this morning. I chose a dress that I actually bought last year, but have only worn once time. I think it has a nice Spring feel to it. The brandname is ELLE (Kohls)  and then I have my Mootsies Tootsies  navy wedge sandals - which are very comfortable for church as well. We stand a lot in church when singing and I find myself going more and more for comfort these days.

Hubby gets in on the OOTD today - with his khaki Carhartt slacks, Dickies shirt and Dockers shoes. I think he cleans up quite nice!

High Five For F R I D A Y

So Ready for the Weekend  - TGIF

Even tho I had a short week - I stayed home yesterday due to my lazy gallbladder (see previous post) it was still a LONG week because of STAAR - state testing.

Here are my top 5 Highlights of the week:

1. I reached $100 in Adsense for my Youtube videos and blogs - my goal was by June - so since I made my goal early - that makes me happy. I am not blogging for the $ - but if I can get paid for doing it - why not, right?

2. I saved $404 at Kohls PLUS got back $50 in Kohl's cash - went back 2 days later and spent enough for $20 more AND I had a 30% coupon!!

3. I downloaded Draw Something and got totally addicted...not sure if that is a good thing or not.

4. I lost 2 pounds - I have sworn off sweets for the time being. I would have hoped for more, but 2 pounds is probably healthier than 10, which I would have preferred :-)

and....

5.  I started "secret" guitar lessons. shhh! I will blog about that later!

I hope all have a happy Friday - and are doing the happy dance with me.

OOTD Tuesday

I love the fact that Spring is in the air and it is time for bare legs - even though I have NO tan at all - doesn't seem to bother me too much any more! I spent year after year going to tanning bed, then bought my own tanning bed about 10 years ago only to sell it after putting in a pool 5 years ago.  Now since I hit the big 50 - (and beyond - I will be 52 this summer) I don't mind so much the "fair skin" look.

OOTD Tuesday

I love long dresses - I could pretty much wear these year round - daily. Most of the people I work with think the greatest thing ever is "jeans day" - not me - give me a long comfy maxi dress any day! This pretty purple one is from Kohls - the purple top is from Catos and I just bought these cute shoes from Marshalls to start off the open toe season (in Texas that comes early, ya'll) I have another pair - same brand - same style - and have pretty much worn them out after 3 years so I wanted another pair and was excited to see these are pretty close. (just wish they were as broken in as the other pair - talk about comfy!)

*This was actually OOTD last week but then I forgot that it was test day and changed to the Bobcat Pride wear. I didn't want to just toss this look - since it is one of my favorites. TodayI am flying to Arkansas and my look won't be near as pretty...lol
