What I Wore:Wednesday

I hadn't been to Dress Barn in quite awhile so while my mom is here we decided to see what great deals they had going on. I am so glad we did! I got this beautiful top which was already on clearance at 50% off for another 25% off at check out. I love it! I also bought a denim jacket and another dressier style top. I am sure I will be posting WIW photos before long! I paid less than $50 for all 3 pieces. My mom got some really good bargains as well.


My shorts are my fav Gloria Vanderbilt shorts from Kohl's that I wear quite often.


I do have new shoes! They are so pretty - black Italian Shoemakers sandals and they have a single strip of leopard print on the top. I bought these at Marshall's. If you keep up with me at all then you know I love Italian Shoemakers brand and have quite a few pair. They are just so comfortable! They have just enough wedge heel to make them a little more dressy and still be comfy, too.

I just love this blouse. I am so glad that LONG is still in - have I mentioned that before (lol) it covers a multitude of sins! (Apt 9 Kohls)

I am also wearing my new Yellow Box Sandals - they aren't the ones I wanted - these are very similar to another pair I have. I really wanted Bronze but since they didn't have my size and I am so impatient - I went ahead and bought them. (Norma's Country Dreams - unfortunatley no website but is on Facebook)

OOTD Tuesday

I am thrilled with my Jennifer Lopez capris. They are super comfortable and I am not big on jeans at all. I wish I was - but they just don't feel good to me. I am very very picky about denim unless it is a skirt. Anyway - I bought these JLo denim capri's at Kohls, as well as this beautiful Apt 9 top. I am so happy the flowing look is in again this year. I am way past the belly shirts and skin tight tops.
I am also wearing my fushia Coach sandals - which I bought last summer at the Coach Outlet store in San Marcos, TX. They are so cute and I love the color~!

OOTD - Easter Sunday

I am so glad the weather was nice today for this Easter Sunday - I have several new dresses for summer and wasn't really sure what I was going to wear until I got up this morning. I chose a dress that I actually bought last year, but have only worn once time. I think it has a nice Spring feel to it. The brandname is ELLE (Kohls)  and then I have my Mootsies Tootsies  navy wedge sandals - which are very comfortable for church as well. We stand a lot in church when singing and I find myself going more and more for comfort these days.

Hubby gets in on the OOTD today - with his khaki Carhartt slacks, Dickies shirt and Dockers shoes. I think he cleans up quite nice!

Italian Shoemakers - My Oh My!

I know, gross, right? I LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes. They are so dang comfortable - you can see my toe prints - and they are peeling - but I haven't been able to part with them.

I found another pair very similar a couple of weeks ago at Marshalls and snagged them right away. I am still working on breaking those in. Monday I went back and found 2 more pairs - different styles, but with that same "my oh my" feel to them. I feel like I am in shoe heaven with 3 pairs of these GREAT Italian Shoemaker sandals! :-)

I'm still keeping my originals. Just can't let a good thing go!

OOTD Tuesday

I decided to take a picture while sporting my guitar. Wouldn't this make a lovely album cover for my first hit single? HA! HA! (don't I wish!)

You can't see my shoes in the photo, but I LOVE them. They are my "new favs" in dress shoes.  #1 they are red and #2 they are sooo comfortable! I got them at Marshalls & they are Guess.

High Five For F R I D A Y

So Ready for the Weekend  - TGIF

Even tho I had a short week - I stayed home yesterday due to my lazy gallbladder (see previous post) it was still a LONG week because of STAAR - state testing.

Here are my top 5 Highlights of the week:

1. I reached $100 in Adsense for my Youtube videos and blogs - my goal was by June - so since I made my goal early - that makes me happy. I am not blogging for the $ - but if I can get paid for doing it - why not, right?

2. I saved $404 at Kohls PLUS got back $50 in Kohl's cash - went back 2 days later and spent enough for $20 more AND I had a 30% coupon!!

3. I downloaded Draw Something and got totally addicted...not sure if that is a good thing or not.

4. I lost 2 pounds - I have sworn off sweets for the time being. I would have hoped for more, but 2 pounds is probably healthier than 10, which I would have preferred :-)

and....

5.  I started "secret" guitar lessons. shhh! I will blog about that later!

I hope all have a happy Friday - and are doing the happy dance with me.

OOTD Tuesday - STAAR testing week

We are doing state testing this week so of course I will be dressing the part.

Today I am wearing another bling-y Tee with Bobcats in gold, black and clear rhinestones on a black tee shirt with a denim Polo skirt. I am wearing my comfy broken in - broke down black Italian Shoemakers sandels that I love so much. They are starting to peel, but I will be wearing them til they fall completely apart!

OOTD Tuesday

I love the fact that Spring is in the air and it is time for bare legs - even though I have NO tan at all - doesn't seem to bother me too much any more! I spent year after year going to tanning bed, then bought my own tanning bed about 10 years ago only to sell it after putting in a pool 5 years ago.  Now since I hit the big 50 - (and beyond - I will be 52 this summer) I don't mind so much the "fair skin" look.

OOTD Tuesday - Bobcat Pride

Today we have Benchmark testing at school so the relaxed look is in. I am wearing my glitzy Bobcat T-shirts with my black Coach boots - (my very very favorite boots) and a faded denim Ralph Lauren skirt. I even have my little paw print earrings on today!

The T-shirt was made by order since our mascot is the Bobcat - I bought the skirt on e-bay a couple of years and my earrings came from a fundraiser.

OOTD Tuesday

I love long dresses - I could pretty much wear these year round - daily. Most of the people I work with think the greatest thing ever is "jeans day" - not me - give me a long comfy maxi dress any day! This pretty purple one is from Kohls - the purple top is from Catos and I just bought these cute shoes from Marshalls to start off the open toe season (in Texas that comes early, ya'll) I have another pair - same brand - same style - and have pretty much worn them out after 3 years so I wanted another pair and was excited to see these are pretty close. (just wish they were as broken in as the other pair - talk about comfy!)

*This was actually OOTD last week but then I forgot that it was test day and changed to the Bobcat Pride wear. I didn't want to just toss this look - since it is one of my favorites. TodayI am flying to Arkansas and my look won't be near as pretty...lol

How cute are these?

I have been needing new sunglasses for the longest.  My Coach sunglasses finally bit the dust months ago  - then I bought a cheapie off brand pair and they somehow got a big scratch on one lens so I couldn't stand that. I look on ebay at least once a week looking for a good bargain on Coach - nothing so far.

I decided to branch out and look at other designers besides Coach. I looked at Prada, Gucci, RayBan, Vera Wang ...either not the style I was looking for or the price I was willing to shell out the bucks for. I knew I wanted a more fun - whimsical -funky- colorful - style -but in good taste - so I thought of  Juicy Couture - Betsey Johnson - even Ed Hardy.

I finally found just the style I had in mind - designed by Betsey Johnson - pretty rose and tan. I love the little ♥ on the tip.

OOTD - Tuesday

I wanted to start an "outfit of the day" post for Tuesdays - so what better way to start with than wearing one of my favorite dresses. I love the colors, the fabric, the comfort. It is from Catos and one of those that will never go out of style.
I bought the brown leather boots at Kohl's this year. I have them over the knee in this photo but they are lined in corduroy so can also be worn folded down below the knee. Paired with brown Vera Wang hosiery and a nude color spandex tank - with green and gold earrings.
